James “Jim” Adolphson was born in Great Falls, Montana, 2/18/1934. He passed away 1/15/2026, under hospice care, Centennial, CO.
He attended the University of Idaho on an ROTC scholarship and then served in the US Navy.
He started his IBM career in 1961 (Seattle, WA) and retired in 1993 (Denver, CO) after 32 years. He then worked for Gartner Group for 9 years.
Jim was proud of his service in the US Navy & his career with IBM.
He had unending love & pride for his family: wife Susan, 3 kids David, Cathy and Lyn & 3 (step) kids Timothy, Patrick and Michael. He had 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He cultivated his interests in sports (skiing & basketball), love of the outdoors, classical arts (opera & music), cooking, good wine, and fast cars. Above all, he loved his family.
There will be a celebration of life for Jim in June, 2026…date TBD.
