Deon Lyle, a 6’7” guard from Hastings, Nebraska filled the stat sheet by scoring 41 points, grabbing 10 rebounds, dishing out nine assists and made four steals to lead the Great Falls Electric (1-2) past the Mesquite (NV) Desert Dogs (0-1), 123-98 during Friday’s The Basketball League (TBL) contest at the Pacific Steel & Recycling Four Seasons Arena in Great Falls.

Lyle, who had 15 of his 41 points during the opening twelve minutes, led all scorers in the first quarter. Great Falls held a six-point advantage (25-19) as many Great Falls supporters were in attendance to witness the Electric in action.

James Zucarro scored eight of his 22 points before the second period, including two baskets from long distance for head coach Jermaine Kimbrough’s inaugural TBL team.

The Desert Dogs did not give up trailing 41-34 midway through the stanza and 60-56 at halftime. Caleb Stokes recorded eight points

After halftime, Great Falls held an 83-74 advantage with twelve minutes remaining and went on to defeat the Nevada TBL squad by 25 points.

After Deon Lyle’s 41 points, Great Falls received offensive help from Manny Izunabor and Larry Plummer, who provided 16 markers apiece. Izunabor, originally from Nigeria, had a team-high of 11 rebounds for head coach Broc Finstuen’s squad.

Meanwhile, Lonny Langston went 11-for-23 from the field and finished with 22 points and 10 rebounds, with eight of them coming on the defensive side. Five of the Desert Dogs six players that saw action scored over ten points.
