The Great Falls Electric professional basketball team has signed a former Texas Division 1 college basketball standout for the upcoming 2026 The Basketball League (TBL) season.
The Great Falls Electric will be getting ready for their third season in The Basketball League in March 2026.
Deon Lyle, who began his prep career at Hastings (NE) High School before transferring to Norton Community High School in Kansas, played two years at Cloud County Community College Thunderbirds in Concordia, Kansas (2015-17) before transferring before his junior season to play with the Roadrunners of the University of Texas-San Antonio (2017-18).
As a sophomore at Cloud County CC, he led the team in scoring by averaging 15 points and 3.8 rebounds per contest. Deon earned First Team All-Kansas Jayhawk Community Conference and second team National Junior College Athletic Association All-Region VI.
In his lone collegiate season with UTSA during the 2017-18 season, he helped guide his team to the Conference USA Tournament and the College Invitational Tournament (CIT). Lyle finished third on the team in scoring with 11.3 ppg and tied the season school record with 96 three-pointers. The newest member of the Great Falls Electric team was the Conference USA Sixth Man of the Year.
After leaving UTSA, he announced he was turning professional. He joined the Chicago Ballers of the Junior Basketball Association (JBA), where he averaged 22.7 points, 10.1 rebounds, and 3.7assists per game. He also played on the East team at the JBA All-Star Game, where he scored 51 points, 11 boards, and nine assists and was named Co-Most Valuable Player. After that season, he was one of 14 players to be named to the JBA USA team for the 2018 international tour.
After going undrafted in the NBA Draft in 2019, he played overseas with the Armenia Basketball League’s Aragats, then signed with Albany (NY) Patroons of The Basketball League (TBL) and the Tijuana Zonkeys of the Circuito de Baloncesto de las Costa del Pacifico (CIBACOPA) in Mexico in 2020. He played with four other teams in The Basketball League, including the Enid (OK) Outlaws, Potawatomi (OK) Fire, Frederick (MD) Flying Cows, and the San Antonio (TX) Clutch. He was a member of the 2021 Enid Outlaws TBL championship team.
He also spent time in the Forces Armees et Police (FAP) in Cameroon in The Basketball Africa League (BAL).
“We are excited to have Deon Lyle on the Electric basketball team,” said Electric team owner and general manager Jim Keough. “He is an outstanding player and has already played on a TBL championship team and will be a leader on and off the court. The fans in Great Falls will be amazed at what a talented basketball player he is.”
The 2025 Great Falls Electric basketball team finished with a 25-5 record and made it to the TBL Semifinals before losing in two games of their best-of-three series to the Potawatomi Fire. They defeated the Seattle SuperHawks in the Division Finals and the San Diego Sharks in the Conference Finals.
