
Emergency crews responded to a river rescue at the 15th Street Bridge at approximately 9 a.m. on April 23rd. Personnel included Great Falls Fire Rescue, the Black Eagle Volunteer Fire Department, the Cascade County Sheriff/Coroner’s Office, Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks Region 4, and Great Falls Emergency Services.
At around 9:40 a.m., reports indicated that a person had been transported by boat to Broadwater Bay, where they were met by an ambulance and taken to the Benefis Health System Emergency Department.
Six public safety agencies, along with 911 dispatch and members of the team at Black Eagle Dam, worked together to respond. The first of three rescue boats was launched into the water in under 10 minutes. Other responders assisted by directing the boat toward the individual, utilizing a drone and officers stationed on shore. The person was out of the water about 10 minutes after the first boat was launched.
