Power has been restored at Calumet Montana Refining following an unplanned transformer outage. With power restored, crews are safely returning systems to normal operating conditions.

During the outage and restoration process, the community may have observed increased flaring and elevated noise. This flaring is a normal part of safely managing refinery operations during a power interruption and restart. Flaring will decrease as systems continue to normalize.

Calumet has been in continuous communication with the City of Great Falls Fire Chief Jeremy Virts throughout the day and will continue to maintain open, transparent communication with the Great Falls Fire Rescue Department.
