Lewis and Clark County Public Works will close Head Lane Bridge to conduct a complete bridge replacement project beginning Wednesday, June 25, 2025.

During the project, traffic to Head Lane north of the bridge closure is advised to use Franklin Mine Road.  Construction is expected to be completed by September 7, 2025.

Lewis and Clark County was awarded a Montana Coal Endowment Program Grant and Senate Bill 536 Grant to complete the replacement of the weight-restricted Head Lane Bridge at Sevenmile Creek.  The new bridge will span 54 feet, meet the Federal Highway Administration’s highway loading requirements, and have a design life of 75 years.

The closure is being coordinated with emergency services and law enforcement agencies. Lewis and Clark County officials regret any inconvenience this may cause and ask for the public’s cooperation until the work is complete.
