UPDATE: At approximately 2:15 PM on April 20th, officers had cleared the scene.
At approximately 11:51 AM, 911 dispatchers received multiple reports of a male lying in the street. Officers arrived and found a man with what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. He was transported to the Benefis Health System Emergency Department.
Information regarding the man’s condition or identity was not released at that time. This was believed to be an isolated incident and no ongoing threat to the community.
ORIGINAL POST: (April 20th, 1 PM)Community members may see an increased police presence in the 300 block of 1st Ave SW. Crews have responded to a serious incident, and traffic to the area is restricted. Please avoid the area if possible.
