
Great Falls Fire Rescue responded to a residential structure fire at 3609 1st Ave North on April 1, 2026, at approximately 3:32 p.m.
Upon arrival, crews discovered a fire in a basement bedroom of the residence. Firefighters worked quickly to contain the fire, limiting damage primarily to the basement bedroom, although smoke damage was reported throughout the home.
Two household occupants, both minors, were evaluated for injuries and smoke inhalation and were transported for medical care. Updates on their current condition is unavaillable at this time.
The American Red Cross has been notified and is assisting the occupants of the home. Northwestern Energy was contacted to turn off the gas supply to the residence.
According to reports, the cause of the fire has not yet been determined and is still under investigation.
From January 1 through April 1, 2026, Great Falls Fire Rescue has responded to 30 fire-related incidents, compared to 20 during the same time period in 2025. While these numbers reflect all types of fire responses and are not limited to structure fires, they highlight the importance of early reporting as well as fire prevention and safety measures.
