The U.S. Air Force is scheduled to conduct three town halls across northern Montana March 31 – April 2 as part of the Sentinel ICBM program coming here.
Town halls will be held at the following locations:
Lewistown High School, Lewistown: 6 p.m., March 31
Conrad High School, Conrad: 6 p.m., April 1
West Elementary School, Great Falls: 6 p.m., April 2
The meetings aim to inform local communities on the progress of the Sentinel Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM), a modern, reliable, and effective weapon system charged with replacing the country’s Minuteman III ICBMs. The program calls for extensive on-base development at Malmstrom AFB to support Sentinel, as well as the construction of more than 150 new missile silos to house the missile. Over time, Sentinel Task Force officials will also oversee the decommissioning and dismantling of the local Minuteman missile fleet.
Speakers will also be on hand to address the ongoing efforts of environmental teams that may require access to property to conduct land surveys, as well as answer questions on the way ahead for the program.
Sentinel subject matter experts will be available for interview, Lt. Col. John Mayer, Sentinel Task Force Commander, located at Malmstrom AFB, and Ms. Katie Parks, Deputy Program Executive Officer, Hill AFB, UT. Media interested in this opportunity must coordinate interview request with the 341st Missile Wing Public Affairs Office no later than 12 p.m., March 30, 2026. To RSVP for the media interview or for questions on the Sentinel program, contact the 341st Missile Wing Public Affairs office at 406-731-4050 by Noon, March 30.
