
Heavy snowfall combined with strong winds caused downed trees and power lines in the past few days. Ice and drifting snow on some roadways created whiteout conditions in certain areas, leading to several vehicle accidents and road closures.
Despite the harsh weather, the Great Falls St. Patrick’s Day Parade went on as scheduled. The event took place in cold temperatures and blowing snow on Saturday, March 14th. It began in front of the Civic Center and proceeded down Central Avenue to 8th Street. Participants were well bundled up, wrapping themselves in blankets to stay warm.

As of Sunday, March 15th, the roads remained covered in ice and snow, though the sun had begun to melt some of the accumulation away.
