On March 22, 2026, at approximately 3:30 AM, 911 dispatchers received multiple reports of a disturbance involving shots fired in the 800 block of 1st Avenue North.

When officers arrived at the scene, a person fled, prompting the officers to suspect the individual’s involvement and engage in a brief foot pursuit. Once the person was in custody, the officers determined that the original disturbance had dispersed by the time they arrived. They inspected the area and found evidence suggesting that a gun had recently been fired.

According to tips and reports received, a female was shot in the leg while sitting in a blue Challenger. She was later found in an alley with a gunshot wound to her lower leg. This incident was reportedly connected to a party downtown. Several vehicles related to the incident have been impounded.

As of 1 PM, the Great Falls Police Department announced that no suspects have been taken into custody. They believe the incident was isolated to those involved and that there is no ongoing threat to the community.
