The Dana Gallery, located in the heart of historic downtown Missoula, is one of the largest contemporary art galleries in Montana. Established in 1996, the gallery initially specialized in photography, but its interests have since expanded to include Montana painters and regional Western painters.
In 2004, they moved to their current location, featuring over thirty artists, and also host special group exhibitions showcasing more than 100 artists. Past events have included the Oil Painters of America national show for two years, Meridian International’s Out West show, and twice coordinating the nationally juried Icons of the West show.
For more than twenty years, every mid-March, The Dana Gallery packs up a large U-Haul and heads to Great Falls to participate in celebrations honoring artists and the tradition of Western art during the C.M. Russell Auction, along with an extraordinary array of art shows hosted throughout Great Falls during the annual Western Art Week. The community is encouraged to attend the event, which provides an excellent opportunity for art enthusiasts to meet, interact with the artists, and watch them paint.
Artists from Dana Gallery will be at the Western Art Show from March 19-22 at the Four Seasons Arena, Expo Park, 605 48th Street South. This time-honored annual event attracts Western artists and collectors from across the country, featuring an extraordinary array of artwork. Participating artists include Robert Moore, Janet Sullivan, Garth Williams, Lori McNee, Ryan Shuman, and Robbie Moore.
