Paris Gibson Square Museum of Art is proud to present Spotlight on The Square, opening Feb. 6 and running through May 30. Spotlight on The Square focuses on the staff, students, and instructors who make the museum a creative community. This exhibition is a showcase of the outstanding artwork from artists representing eight decades of experience and a wide breadth of expertise in a variety of mediums.

A reception will be held Friday, February 13 at 5:30 p.m., and the public is invited to attend, meet the artists, and celebrate this special exhibition.

About this Exhibition:

The Square fosters an artistic community and exudes a passion for visual art. Art classes, exhibitions, guest lectures, exhibition catalogues, artist workshops, and community outreach are outstanding thanks to all the people that dedicate their time, effort, and love for art to the museum. In 2025, The Square hosted 52 art classes, workshops, and kids’ summer camps in addition to its free art programs.

The Square’s staff, art instructors, and students are accomplished museum professionals, teachers, sculptors, painters, printmakers, writers, musicians, craftsmen, potters, mixed-media artists, and artisans. They make the museum a place of inspiration and aspiration for the community through the diversity of their skills, expertise, and creativity. Instructors provide arts education opportunities through hands-on experiences — working to connect the current exhibitions to the classroom. The Square is thankful for the knowledge and commitment these individuals contribute to the museum and the Great Falls community.

The exhibition was originally conceived in 2020 by Nicole Maria Evans, Chief Curator/Director of Curatorial Affairs, and Rob Kellenbeck, former Ceramic Technician, who together developed its concept and purpose: to show the community the connection between the museum and art education.

In addition to celebrating the exceptional outcomes of the Education Department and the artwork of its students and staff, the exhibition was designed to be a hands-on learning opportunity in exhibition management for the museum’s other curatorial staff. This year’s exhibition was organized by Jaymi Jones, Curatorial Assistant.
