The Great Falls Police Department responded to multiple crashes caused by the current weather conditions. From approximately 11:30 AM to noon, on February 17th, they responded to six accidents between I-15 Exit 0 and Fox Farm Road. Additionally, there have been several other crashes reported on 10th Avenue South and other areas of the city.

As a result, the exit from the interstate to Country Club Boulevard (10th Avenue South) was closed until the crashes were cleared. The Montana Department of Transportation laid down sand to improve road conditions.

Drivers are urged to exercise caution during these hazardous driving conditions. Please remember to slow down and maintain plenty of stopping distance, turn on your headlights, and be patient.

“The roads are extremely dangerous right now,” explained Sergeant Tad Kimmet. “We’re asking for the community’s help in reducing crashes. The best thing drivers can do is slow way down.”
