
On Friday, January 9th, the Cascade County Sheriff’s Office announced a suspicious death that occurred in the 1700 block of 22nd Avenue South, just outside the Great Falls city limits. The victim has been identified as Terrell Johnson, a 25-year-old male from Harlem, Montana.
Investigators are seeking assistance in locating and tracking the movements of the victim’s vehicle, a red 2014 Chevrolet Cruze. Detectives are asking the public to report any sightings of this vehicle and any surveillance footage showing the vehicle or its occupants. They are particularly interested in information or video from Wednesday, January 7th, through Friday, January 9th, around noon.
Based on information gathered during the investigation, detectives are searching for a male individual who was on foot in the area between 18th Street South and 5th Street South, and 10th Avenue South and 22nd Avenue South. The timeframe of interest is the morning of January 9th, 2026, between approximately 5:55 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. Detectives believe this individual may pose a potential threat to community safety.
This case has been confirmed as a homicide, with the cause of death being multiple stab wounds. Evidence has been sent to the crime lab for expedited processing. Due to this expedited process, the Sheriff’s Office hopes to release another update later this week or early next week.
The Cascade County Sheriff’s Office is not releasing the suspect’s picture or description at this time to preserve the integrity of interviews with witnesses and suspects.
