
On Friday, January 9th, the Cascade County Sheriff’s Office announced a suspicious death that occurred in the 1700 block of 22nd Avenue South, just outside the Great Falls city limits. The victim has been identified as Terrell Johnson, a 25-year-old male from Harlem, Montana.
This case has been confirmed as a homicide, with the cause of death being multiple stab wounds. Evidence has been sent to the crime lab for expedited processing.
On January 19th, Sheriff Jesse Slaughter stated in a media release that the suspect in this case poses a danger to our community. “If I’m able at any point to get out a good description of our suspaect which we feel would be helpful in our investigation, I will do so. At this point in time, we are still combing through lots of video evidence, lots of other artifacts of evidence, trying to determine who this individual is.”
Throughout this investigation, the Cascade County Sheriff’s Office has received assistance from the Great Falls Police Department, the Montana Division of Criminal Investigations, and the FBI.
Sheriff Slaughter announced that the Grandview Apartments is a key focus of this investigation. “We believe that our suspect left and went to the Grandview Apartments during the early hours of January 9th.” Law enforcement officers have been canvassing the apartment complex and are still seeking more information at this time.
“I know a lot of people in the community want more information, pictures of the suspect, whatnot, coming out. We will do that when it is appropriate,” Sheriff Slaughter added.
