On December 5th, the Municipal Court hosted its annual Canned Food Day event, which provided a unique avenue for defendants to contribute to the community while managing their fines. During this event, defendants who were making monthly payments had the option to bring in non-perishable food items as a substitute for their December payment. For every ten items they donated, a full month’s payment would be credited towards the total amount of fines they owed.

The event resulted in an impressive collection of 2,362 pounds of food. This significant amount was ultimately donated to the Great Falls Community Food Bank, which serves families in need throughout the area.

Detailed information on how to make a contribution to the Food Bank can be found by visiting their website: https://www.greatfallsfoodbank.org/donate.
