The City of Great Falls is currently experiencing a significant service disruption impacting their primary internet connection and telephone system. This outage is reportedly due to a fiber cut occurring out of state, which is affecting numerous businesses and organizations across the regions of Montana, Wyoming, and Colorado.
As a result of this disruption, the City is relying on a backup internet connection. Residents and businesses may experience slower-than-usual access to internet-related services. The online utility billing portal is also being affected at this time, making it difficult for users to manage their accounts and make payments online.
If a call needs to be made to the 911 Dispatch Center’s non-emergency number, please call
406-454-6979. Calls made to 911 are not affected.
City staff are actively tracking the situation and are working with the service provider to restore
services as quickly as possible.
Stay tuned to The Great Falls Gazette as we will update as more information becomes available.
