The Fourth Annual Sam’s Hope Foundation Benefit Chainsaw Carving Competition took place in Lincoln, MT, from July 16th to 19th and was a tremendous success.
Marina Cole won 1st Place and also received the People’s Choice award. Ryan Villiers took 2nd Place, while Mark Colp secured 3rd Place. Additionally, “Mountain Mike” Ayers was named the King of the Quick Carves.
This year’s event featured four incredible days of head-to-head chainsaw competition, showcasing nine professional carvers who came together for a meaningful cause: the fight against childhood cancer. The impressive talent displayed raised tens of thousands of dollars for the Sam’s Hope Foundation.
The foundation was established in honor of Rolland “Sam” Kolve, who was diagnosed with Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma. Tragically, after two years of chemotherapy, Sam passed away. In memory of their son, Glen and Marge Kolve created the foundation to give back to the community for the kindness and support they received during Sam’s illness.
