Do you have the next big find? It might be your favorite piece of art proudly displayed in your home or an antique in the attic that you haven’t thought about in years. Either way, bring your treasure to The Montana Antiques Appraisal Fair in Great Falls on Friday, November 14, and get an expert opinion about its value! Book your spot today at www.mthistory.org/events.
Celebrity Appraiser Timothy Gordon and Auctioneer Grant Zahajko will examine items that truly bring new meaning to the term ‘Treasure State’. Appraisals include breathtaking art, rare collectibles, classic toys, and invaluable pieces of western history, some of which Gordon has called “truly irreplaceable.”
The Foundation for Montana History is a 501(c) nonprofit hosting this fundraising event. All proceeds go to its statewide historic preservation grant program. The Foundation is proud to have brought this annual event to a different Montana community since 2017. This year, the event was made possible thanks to a generous support from GZ Auctions, Timothy Gordon Appraisals, and The Wendt Agency.
The public may purchase appraisal tickets for $15 per item. There is a limit of four appraisal items per person/group. Tickets are available in time slots between 12:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 14th at The History Museum and Research Center. Spectators are free and encouraged to experience the museum exhibits during the appraisal fair!
“Any given day, something incredible can walk through the door, and that’s what the carrot is for appraisers,” says Gordon. He and Zahajko are excited to donate their time to see the treasures the Flathead has to offer.
Please no firearms, jewelry, chemicals, or minerals. Typical items brought in for appraisal include paintings, sculptures, textiles, photographs, Western and Native Americana, toys, sports memorabilia, and other interesting or possibly valuable objects!
