The Great Falls Public Library Library taps into the Folk/Soul/Americana genre on Tuesday when it welcomes David and Diedre Casey to perform a FREE show in Library Park as part of our Summer Library Music Series. The show on Tuesday, August 19 is from 7 to 9 pm. It is free to attend in Library Park. The IceBox will be selling refreshing desserts during the concert.

The Caseys hail from Helena, Montana. According to their website, they have seven children, all of whom beat box on road trips, and also want to form a band. The duo met in college in 1991, during which time they formed “Happy Cactus” with Colin Meloy from The Decemberists. David has recorded seven other albums, both as part of Watercarvers Guild, and as a solo artist.

The duo’s latest album, “Little Fox Bird” came out in 2017. The album, and their first single “6 Days Late,” was produced by Dead Dinosaur Productions.

The Great Falls Public Library Summer Music Series as a whole would not be possible without the following incredible sponsors: The Great Falls Public Library Foundation, TDS Fiber, Scheels, Montana Credit Union and First Interstate Bank.

In the event of bad weather, the music will be moved indoors to the Cordingley Room.

The Library wraps up its Summer Music Series next Tuesday, August 26, when they welcome back the bluegrass stylings of The Strawberry Jam Band.
