Construction has started on upgrading curb ramps as part of the project to resurface approximately 1 mile of US Highway 87 in Great Falls. On 15th Street, the work will begin at the intersection with 1st Avenue South and will extend north to the intersection with 5th Alley North. On 14th Street, the project will start at the intersection with 8th Avenue North and extend south to the intersection with 2nd Avenue South.
The proposed work includes milling the existing surface, applying a new overlay, and finishing with upgraded pavement markings and signage. The goal of this project is to address pavement deterioration and extend the lifespan of the roadway.
Construction is tentatively scheduled for 2027, pending the completion of design work and the availability of funding. There will be no need for new right-of-way acquisitions or utility relocations.
