Heavy snowfall combined with strong winds is causing downed trees and power lines. Snow is drifting on some roadways, leading to whiteout conditions in certain areas. Some roads have been closed. If you need to travel, please exercise caution. If travel is not necessary, it’s safest to stay home.

“I-15 at Seiben flats is being closed (both directions) 287 between Augusta and Choteau is also closing. Stemple will also likely close soon. We are advising people stay off the roads if they don’t need to be out.” stated Sheriff/Coroner Leo C. Dutton in a release.

The Sun Canyon and Benchmark areas have received 18 inches of snow and counting, along with strong winds.

The Marysville and Birdseye areas have experienced 10 to 15 inches of snow and blizzard conditions.

Lincoln has received significant snowfall, which has caused power outages, and travel is not advised, according to their Fire Chief.

Please stay tuned to The Great Falls Gazette as we will update when we have more information.
