On the afternoon of July 9, at approximately 4:46 pm, a young lady experienced a medical emergency at Mitchell Pool. She went down the slide, and another child landed on top of her, keeping her underwater for 1 to 2 minutes. She was rescued from the pool, received CPR, and all efforts were made to resuscitate her by city staff and medical personnel at the scene.
EMS and the Great Falls Fire Department responded to the incident and transported her for further medical care. She was initially taken by ambulance to Benefis, but due to the critical nature of her condition, she was flown to Logan Health PICU in Kalispell via Mercy Flight.
