Spark the Arts is a new non-profit booster club formed by a group of parents to support music, art, and drama in Great Falls public schools. The booster club’s mission is to “generate arts for generations to come”.
Many opportunities and experiences students have in the schools are not fully funded by the school budget. The Spark the Arts booster club aims to raise funds to help support the arts in our schools. “Right now, we are just focusing on Great Falls Public Schools, but after a few years, we would like to expand to all of Cascade County,” explained Mandy Brumwell.
This booster club is here to help support the programs and ensure that financial needs don’t prevent students from participating. The booster club’s goal is to help, support, and bring awareness to the arts in Great Falls and get the community involved in all the amazing things these kids and teachers are doing.
“Our logos were created by art students from our high schools in Great Falls,” explained Mandy. “The selected winning logos were created by students from Paris Gibson Education Center and CMR.”
On June 8th, the Spark the Arts Booster Club will be holding its first annual Soiree fundraiser. This event will include a cocktail hour, catered dinner, silent auction, dessert auction, 50/50 raffle, and art show/sale. “It will be up to the students and the teachers if they would like to sell a piece of their art at this event,” explained Mandy. “Our entertainment for the evening is being provided by students from fifth grade through 12th grade, alumni, and faculty.”
All the money made at this event will go back to supporting the teachers and students in the arts programs in our schools here in Great Falls.
Join us on June 8th for an exciting night at the Mansfield Convention Center. Doors open at 5:00 pm, with dinner beginning at 6:00 pm. Individual tickets purchased in advance are $85, tickets for 2 are $150, or you can sponsor a table of 6 for $600. Tickets will be sold at the door for $100 each.
