Recently it was brought to our attention that the paper had become hard for some people to read. In trying to get more information into the paper, we made some changes that, unfortunately, made the paper harder to read. After looking at the issue, we noticed that, for some reason, the typeface we have always used since we started with the Augusta Breeze for some reason isn’t rendering as well on our new equipment as it did on the old equipment. Additionally, we are working on bringing more color out on the page and making the black a deeper black. These changes should greatly increase the readability of the paper.
As we grow, we’ve tried some new things; some have worked out very well, and some haven’t. It’s important to know that we greatly value our reader’s feedback. This readability issue is highly important to us, and we want to ensure that our readers enjoy reading the paper.
If we make a change that decreases your enjoyment (or readability) please let us know. Sometimes, we simply must make changes, but we do want to try to accommodate as many readers as we can, and if we make a change that people do not care for, then we have let down our readers. That’s something we simply do not care to do. Likewise, if we make a change you like, please feel free to call or write and let us know that you like the change. This lets us know if we hit the mark or if we missed it. The important thing is that our dear readers know that they will always come first and that we do value their opinions. We love feedback and encourage it at all times via email feedback@gfgazette.com, mail, or phone at 406-952-3021.
