Chase Your Dreams VR was opened on February 1st, 2020, only a month before the pandemic began and they had to shut back down. Five months later, they reopened and have been growing ever since.
Chase was 14 years old when he came up with the idea to start Chase Your Dreams VR in Great Falls. “We went to a virtual reality arcade when we were out of town one time in Idaho,” explained Chase. “I thought it was amazing. I thought VR was super cool and I wanted one, but my dad said no. But then I started thinking. There used to be an arcade that was by the IGA in Great Falls that we used to go to, but it closed down. I was in 8th grade and there weren’t that many things for kids to do in that age group. I did a little research on my phone, there wasn’t a virtual reality arcade in the whole state of Montana. I proposed the idea to my dad, and he thought it wasn’t a bad idea, so we opened it up.”
Chase Your Dreams VR has a game room where you first walk in with Xboxes on 70-inch screens, beanbags, a pool table, a driving simulator, a corn hole, and Pac-Man. In the back, they have 4 PC-powered VR bases that people can play together on. They have seating areas where you can have parties, and you can even book the whole venue for your private party for only $250 for two hours. “Those are our favorites,” explained Chase. “They get the whole entire place, for their birthday or corporate party, and they can bring cake, food, and drinks.”
“My parents did basically everything for the start-up,” explained Chase. “From then on, the business has been able to pay itself back. We’re kind of at a steady level right now. But it came from my parents being very super supportive. I didn’t do anything without them. I am super blessed. At first, I tried to do as much as I could, but within the last year, I can run almost all of it. Basically, my dad and I work together to run it. Neither one of us can run it completely by ourselves at this point. A lot of the time it’s just me here, but we work together most of the time in order to do everything.”
“I just support him,” explained his dad, Shawn Morgan. “We go there 20 hours a week. It’s full-blown, his brainchild and his doing. He’s a senior this year, so he doesn’t start school until about 1:30. Then he goes to football practice and then he goes to work. He’s really outdone himself.”
