Driver in Custody After Vehicle Pursuit

On Monday, August 10th, 2026, at approximately 6:35 AM, Great Falls Police officers initiated a vehicle pursuit after a traffic stop was attempted at the intersection of 2nd Street South and 10th Avenue South, and the driver failed to comply.

The driver, a 65-year-old white male with a white beard, was operating a maroon 2005 Chevrolet Silverado. During the pursuit, which followed the route outlined below, officers believe several other motorists may have been placed in danger.

While being pursued, the driver collided with a marked patrol car. He was taken into custody, during which a struggle occurred, resulting in minor injuries to both the suspect and multiple officers.

  • Starting at 2nd Street South and 10th Avenue South
  • East on 10th Avenue South to 4th Street South
  • South on 4th Street South to 13th Avenue South
  • East on 13th Avenue South to 7th Street South
  • North on 7th Street South to 10th Avenue South
  • East on 10th Avenue South to 20th Street South (the driver ran a red light at 9th Street South)
  • South on 20th Street South to 17th Avenue South
  • West on 17th Avenue South to 16th Street South
  • South on 16th Street South to 20th Avenue South
  • Pursuit ended in the 1500 block of 20th Avenue South

To protect the integrity of the investigation, the Great Falls Police Department has not disclosed the reason for the initial traffic stop or the identity of the driver.
