On the evening of November 24th, Great Falls Fire Rescue promptly responded to a kitchen fire in a mobile home located at 2010 River Drive N, Unit 4. The department received the dispatch at 10:22 PM and arrived at the scene at 10:29 PM, where they observed smoke emanating from the residence. Firefighters from Engine 1 initiated an interior attack and encountered significant smoke, elevated temperatures, and an active fire within the kitchen. Their swift actions effectively extinguished the fire, preventing its spread throughout the mobile home.

At the time of the fire, the occupants were not present; they had just returned home and noted the smoke. A Bearded Dragon was inside the dwelling during the incident and was found to be safe and unharmed. The investigation concluded that the fire was accidental, attributed to the occupants placing items on the stovetop while moving into the home, inadvertently activating the burner.
