On November 4th, around 2:30 PM, reports indicated that an adult male was walking near the West Elementary School playground, making verbal threats toward the children.

According to the Great Falls Police Department, the man continued to walk through the neighborhood but left the school premises. As a precautionary measure while law enforcement responded and searched for the individual, West Elementary School altered its security posture to a shelter-in-place.

The suspect was eventually located, identified, and charged with a misdemeanor offense. “The suspect did not take any actions that would further his threats,” stated Fleming in a press release. “At this time, this is all we can disclose about the incident.”
