Tipper is a little white dog with a black tip on his tail that was created by cartoon artist Patricia Schlaeger in 2015. Tipper is used to explain how the Crimestoppers program works. Schlaeger, who has been producing advertising and marketing cartoons for years to promote companies and non-profit organizations, felt a cartoon program would be an excellent way to inform the local public about Crimestoppers. Cartoons are based on many of the crimes taking place locally: theft from vehicles and homes, drug trafficking, human trafficking, scams on bank accounts, credit cards, and public safety in general. Tipper and his cousin Bandit are sometimes featured on the Crimestoppers Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/727TIPS/
Crimestoppers is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to be a pro-active voice in the Great Falls community in reducing crime and supporting local law enforcement agencies by providing a conduit for tips to apprehend criminals in our area, and presenting community educational programs about crime and public safety in general. The program is managed by a volunteer citizen board of directors and coordinated by the Cascade County Sheriff’s Office and the Great Falls Police Department. Crimestoppers is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization wholly supported by donations from individuals and businesses in Great Falls and the surrounding area who want to help reduce crime.
