UPDATE

Great Falls Fire Rescue responded to an incident involving a fire in the attic of a residence located at 2201 7th Avenue North. The emergency call was received at 2:22 PM, with Engine 3 being the first unit from the Great Falls Fire Rescue to arrive on the scene at 2:25 PM. Upon arrival, the crew noted a light haze emanating from the attic.

The firefighters encountered difficulties in accessing the attic; however, once access was achieved, they promptly extinguished the fire and removed the smoldering insulation. The damage sustained by the structure was minimal, affecting only a few trusses in the attic. The investigation concluded that the cause of the fire was of electrical origin.

Due to a high volume of emergency calls within the city at that time, a Second Alarm was activated to recall off-duty personnel from the Great Falls Fire Rescue. Additionally, fire departments from the Montana Air National Guard and Malmstrom Air Force Base were requested to provide coverage for Great Falls Fire Rescue stations 3 and 4.
