The final Summer Music in the Park Series show takes place on Tuesday, August 26 from 7 to 9 pm when the Strawberry Jam Band, previously known as the Sally Jo and Blue Grass band performs a FREE show in Library Park. Frosty Food Truck will be serving delicious dinner options and ice cream, as well.
Grab a blanket or chairs and enjoy this final free show in Library Park for the summer.
Founded by Sally Jo Ratliff, the Strawberry Jam Band is a loose collective of local bluegrass musicians. Ratliff, raised in Ohio, has always been drawn deeply to bluegrass music. She grew up attending many Midwest bluegrass festivals where artists such as Bill Monroe, Stanley and the Country Gentlemen performed. Ratliff also had the opportunity to sing with many of the bluegrass acts in those festivals. She moved to Great Falls in 2005.
“Bluegrass is something I love playing and singing, and I like to share it with other people,” she once said in an interview. Sally Jo and Blue Grass performed to a large crowd last August and were requested to return after patrons reported how much they enjoyed the show. They changed their name earlier this year.
The Great Falls Public Library Summer Music Series as a whole would not be possible without the following incredible sponsors: The Great Falls Public Library Foundation, TDS Fiber, Scheels, Montana Credit Union and First Interstate Bank.
In the event of bad weather, the music will be moved indoors to the Cordingley Room.
