Local eatery Family Affair Restaurant will be hosting a visit from America’s Best Restaurants (ABR) in mid-August 2025.
America’s Best Restaurants, a national media and marketing company focusing on bringing attention to local, independently-owned restaurants, will bring its ABR Roadshow to the restaurant on August 15th. Popular dishes will be highlighted, along with an extensive on-camera interview with owners Jonathan and Jacquie Scott about the restaurant’s special place in the community. The episode will be aired extensively on social media channels at a later date.
Open since 1978, Family Affair has had a long history in the Great Falls area; the Scotts took over the popular eatery in 2022, moving from Oregon to do so. A longtime chef and restaurateur, Jonathan had always wanted to own his own restaurant, and Jacquie, a Great Falls native, was encouraged to return to her hometown by her father, a regular customer at Family Affair.
“My father’s been eating here every Wednesday with his golf buddies for years and years and years,” Jacquie says. “Ultimately, he was like,’Hey, the [former owners] are selling. Why don’t you buy this and come home?’”
Serving hearty breakfast and lunch dishes in a homey atmosphere, Family Affair Restaurant is especially known for its baked goods, including cinnamon rolls, homemade pies, and cookies. Omelets, French toast with homemade bread, from-scratch soups, sandwiches and burgers are also popular.
The Scotts recognize that Family Affair Restaurant has a reputation in the community that they have been able not only to uphold but to take it to a new level. They have won over the local clientele, brought in new patrons, and still feel they have remained the kind of place that people expect. They are looking forward to showcasing their eleven-seat restaurant to gain additional business, highlight their hard-working staff, and bring attention to the area.
“We have folks that come every day and yet we have this whole new huge demographic that also has found us,” Jacquie says. “I just think [being on the Roadshow] is just such a cool opportunity. I mean, not only for us, but for Great Falls, period.”
America’s Best Restaurants will be filming on location on Friday August 15th from 9 am to noon MST. The press is invited to attend. The restaurant’s finished episode premiere date will be announced on their Facebook page and will be featured on America’s Best Restaurants’ website at www.americasbestrestaurants.com/rests/montana/family-affair-restaurant.
Restaurants featured on the ABR Roadshow are selected based on their customer reviews, menu items, social media presence, and level of involvement with their community.
