At approximately 4 am, Monday, June 9th, Great Falls Police officers responded to a report of gunfire in the 1800 block of 10th Alley S.

Upon arrival, they discovered two individuals with gunshot wounds. One of the victims was pronounced deceased at the scene, while the other was transported to Benefis Health System Emergency Department and has since been released.

The Central Montana High Risk Unit, which includes officers from the Great Falls Police Department and deputies from the Cascade County Sheriff/Coroner’s Office, was deployed to the area and has cleared the scene. Investigators are currently interviewing several individuals connected to the incident. Authorities believe there is no ongoing threat to the community, and the area remains cordoned off as detectives continue their work.
