The Great Falls Rescue Mission is gearing up for their summer camp. During this camp, they provide a diverse range of engaging activities for children while their parents participate in various classes and recovery programs. They are actively seeking volunteers to assist Monday through Thursday with schedules consisting of morning and afternoon sessions.

Children particularly enjoy field activities, with fishing being one of their favored pastimes during the afternoons. All activities are organized through the mission. This environment often allows children to open up and express themselves, free from the stressors often associated with academic settings, where they may experience feelings of inadequacy.

The Great Falls Rescue Mission summer program is scheduled from June 16th through August 14th.

They dedicate substantial time to personalized conversations and collaborative brainstorming to develop tailored solutions for each child’s needs.

The Great Falls Rescue Mission collaborates with several community partners including the local roller skating rink, and the water park. These engagements promote positive connections between children and their parents.

Throughout the duration of the program, they emphasize outdoor activities, taking advantage of the seasonal opportunities available.

The Great Falls Rescue Mission also accepts volunteers for tutoring, as many of the children come from challenging backgrounds and possess gaps in their educational experiences. Volunteers can provide essential assistance with tutoring and can serve as chaperones for excursions, such as trips to the water park and the skating rink. Engaging in games and recreational activities is vital for fostering relationships with the children.

Volunteers are encouraged to visit the rescue mission to familiarize themselves with the after-school program and explore how they can contribute meaningfully. Should they find the experience rewarding, there will be opportunities for increased involvement during the summer months.
