The 2025 Great Falls Word Meister Contest is scheduled for March 20th from 6 PM to 8 PM in the Cordingley Room of the Great Falls Public Library.
The Word Meister contest has been running for nearly 20 years. It involves answering vocabulary questions, and teams of two to four people take part. Each team will be asked to define a specific word by choosing the correct answer from three provided definitions. If they answer correctly, they advance to the next round. Teams can earn extra passes for the next round by wearing costumes related to their team’s name or bringing food donations for the food bank.
The competition typically attracts about 9 or 10 teams, with an audience of around 60 to 70 people. Most participants dress in costumes corresponding to their team’s name, ranging from elaborate outfits to simple t-shirts.
Everyone is encouraged to sign up early, as there is a cap of 10 teams, a limit that is often reached. Interested participants should register via the Great Falls Public Library website at https://greatfallslibrary.org.
