Centre Hair Design has proudly served the Great Falls community for six decades, establishing itself as a trusted provider of barber styling services. In 1974, the business was acquired by Lance Olson and Frank Palakovich, who implemented significant enhancements to the standards of barbering. By 1978, they adopted the California Concept theory, a progressive approach that emphasizes effective cutting, styling, and maintenance of hair through the use of specialized products. Later they became influential educators in Montana, instructing California Concept techniques to aspiring barbers throughout the region.
The current owner, Tami Knorr, along with her colleague Tracy Rice, each possess approximately forty years of experience in the field of barbering. Tami and Tracy began their journey together in barber school, where they developed a close professional relationship and commenced their careers side by side.
Upon the retirement of Frank and Lance, Tami assumed ownership of Centre Hair Design, thereby continuing the establishment’s legacy of excellence. Centre Hair Design initially operated within the Holiday Village Mall, employing approximately seven to nine barbers.
Tami’s interest in barbering was ignited when she accompanied her mother to a salon. Observing women soaking their feet led her to seek out a nearby barber shop, where she made the decision to pursue a career in barbering. She borrowed financial assistance from her grandmother to enroll in barber school and worked diligently to repay this loan.
At Centre Hair Design, they emphasize an old-school approach within a friendly atmosphere, ensuring a welcoming experience for all clients.
