The missing individual, Lynn Taskila, has been confirmed deceased.
Lynn Edward Taskila, a 78-year-old resident of Great Falls, was reported missing on December 24, 2024. Mr. Taskila was last observed driving away from a business in the 1100 block of 4th Street South, in Great Falls, on the same date. Senior Police Officer Kazior dedicated numerous hours to locating Mr. Taskila, after which Detective Fleming assumed responsibility for the case. The investigation included aerial searches in remote areas surrounding Great Falls, conducted with the assistance of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Montana Air Unit.
On January 23, 2025, Mr. Taskila was located in Hill County, Montana. The Hill County Sheriff’s Office is currently leading the investigation.
The family of Mr. Taskila has been notified of this development. Much appreciation goes out to the community members who participated in the search efforts, shared information regarding his disappearance, and provided support to the family.
