The Great Falls Public Library welcomes Carol Bradley, Sage Marshall, and Jon Ring to speak about their works in the Cordingley Room throughout the month of October.

Bradley talks about her latest title Twisting in Air on Tuesday, Oct. 15 from 7 to 8 pm, Marshall talks about his book of poetry Echolocation on Thursday, Oct. 17 from 6 to 7 pm, and finally, Ring discusses his two suspense/horror books Stained Echoes and The Dreadful Call on Thursday, Oct. 24 from 7 to 8 pm.

Twisting in Air: The Sensational Rise of a Hollywood Falling Horse tells how an extraordinary group of horses learn to fall on cue in Western movies and chronicles how one of them, a quarter horse mix named Cocaine, overcame a debilitating injury to become the fastest of them all.

Bradley spent 26 years as a newspaper reporter in Tennessee, New York, Washington DC, and at the Great Falls Tribune. After studying Animal Law as a Nieman fellow at Harvard, she began writing books about animals in the U.S. Twisting in Air is her third book.

Longtime Field & Stream writer, editor, and outdoor journalist Sage Marshall released his debut poetry collection, Echolocation on Oct. 1. According to his website, it “provides a profound and essential perspective on contemporary masculinity, eco-poetics, and Western literature. This sonically charged presentation intricately weaves the landscapes and ecologies of the American West against themes of violence, adolescence, and beauty.”

Finally, Ring is an award-winning author from Helena. He is the co-owner of the White Knight Games & Hobbies shop with his brother Joel. He released his latest title Stained Echoes, in 2022. According to the book publisher’s press release, it states “Within these pages are thirteen stories of mysterious happenings, tragic circumstances, and macabre deeds. Each tale transports readers to realms beyond the scope of reason, where everything and anything is possible.”

Ring’s first book The Dreadful Call came out in 2021. That title, also a horror theme, features, “Fantastical creatures, haunted forests, and tales of terror await readers in this collection of thirteen delightfully spooky yarns.”
