Susan Rasmussen recently opened Harmony in the Falls Yoga Studio in the 2J’s shopping complex on June 3rd.
Several years ago, Susan had a negative experience with a yoga class which led her to refrain from practicing yoga for a while. However, while overseas, she rediscovered her joy for yoga, and upon returning to the States, she decided to pursue certification to teach classes. “I like that it calms my mind, and energizes my body at the same time,” explained Susan. “It helps me stay centered and just helps me stay mobile and flexible.”
When a hairdresser vacated part of her studio, Susan saw an opportunity to start her yoga studio. Audrey Mills and Sage Guinn are two other instructors who have joined Harmony in the Falls, and together they offer a variety of classes.
Harmony in the Falls offers a welcoming environment for everyone, regardless of their experience with yoga. Additionally, they offer a monthly introduction to yoga workshop for those who are new to yoga. The studio provides props such as yoga blocks, blankets, and bolsters to help participants achieve yoga poses safely and comfortably.
The first class at Harmony in the Falls is free, and after that, they offer reasonable rates for their hour-long classes. They also have a six-class pass which can be used with any instructor, as well as a monthly membership for unlimited classes.
