Great Falls Police Promotes Five Officers

Great Falls Police Department celebrated their promotion ceremony on Thursday, March 21st. “You are going to hear the words: instructor, teaching, volunteering, serving, Directed Enforcement Team, Montana Law Enforcement Academy, GFPPA board member, Field Training Officer, Honor Guard, High Risk Unit, and many others, over and over,” explained Lt LaBard at the start of the ceremony. “As I read these bios, watch for themes of innovation and problem solving. For those of you who had the courage to step up and test for one of these promotions but aren’t up here today, stay in the fight. Every one of us will be told “no” far more than “yes” in our careers. The light is shown on your leadership and individual character during difficult times. Stay in the fight.”

Each of the officers promoted have served the community honorably. Combined, they have over 65 years of law enforcement experience. Congratulations to the following officers on their new leadership roles.

New GFPD Ranks
Captain – Doug Mahlum – Badge 232
Lieutenant – Aaron Frick – Badge 280
