On February 29th, a significant police presence was noticed by community members in and around the west side Walmart.
Several officers from GFPD and US Marshals Task Force, some of whom were in plain clothes, took a wanted person into custody for an out-of-state felony warrant. As a precautionary measure and due to the proximity to Walmart, SRO Kinsey put North Middle School into a shelter-in-place (SIP) status to restrict access during after-school activities. The SIP has now been lifted, and the incident is concluding.
