Great Falls, Mont – Jordan Schroeder is 25 years old and his way of giving back to the community for all the support he has been given is by growing pumpkins. Each year the Schroeder family opens their farm for one day, for Jordan’s Pumpkins for a Cause.

On Saturday, September 30th, everyone was invited to pick up a pumpkin, have some popcorn, and enjoy a hayride. The Schroeder family only ever asks that you make a donation, if you are able, to the charity they choose for the year.

This year the Schroeder family chose to benefit Family Promise of Great Falls. “We always look for a charity around the area and Family Promise seemed like a worthy cause,” explained Phil. “From what we understand there are very limited resources available for families in Great Falls that are in need of a place to stay. There are women’s shelters and men’s shelters but limited family shelters.”

On the day of the event, there were over 200 vehicles, and at least 70 volunteers, and brought in approximately $5,000 on that day alone. They also had the opportunity to use their handicap wagon for the first year. This was greatly welcomed by several who often don’t have the chance to enjoy hayrides due to disabilities.

The Schroeder family continues bringing in donations and wraps things up usually around Thanksgiving each year. This year Jordan wrapped up his 2023 Pumpkins for a Cause event on November 13th, when he presented the funds to this year’s charity, Family Promise of Great Falls.

The final total for this year’s event was $12,644.00. Jordan and family would like to thank the community for supporting this annual event. “This was a great opportunity to give back to a non-profit organization serving our local area.”
