MALMSTROM AIR FORCE BASE, Mont. – One Airman was killed and one Airman was injured in a Humvee accident that occurred in Cascade County on October 21, 2023.
Airman Alton S. John, a defender with the 341st Missile Security Forces Squadron, died on the evening of October 27, as a result of injuries sustained in the vehicle accident. The specific details of the accident/death are under investigation.
At the time of the accident both Airmen were transported to nearby medical facilities, where Amn John later succumbed to his injuries.
The injured Airman is currently in stable condition.
“This is a loss that will be greatly felt by each and every member of Team Malmstrom,” said Col. Barry E. Little, 341st Missile Wing commander. “Our main focus will be continuing support to our injured Airman, the affected family members, and providing them with all the services available to work through this difficult time.”
