Beginning Drawing Class (Adults)

May 14 @ 6:00 pm 7:30 pm

In this class students will use pencil, charcoal, and ink to practice drawing from observation and creating captivating markmaking. This class is designed for beginning artists and will cover techniques for accurate drawing, composition and design, rendering form, and expressive markmaking. Students will be required to keep a sketchbook and complete at least 3 fifteen-minute drawings per week outside of class.

When: Wednesdays, April 9th- May 14th

Instructor: Ashleigh McCann
Ashleigh McCann primarily creates abstract and nonrepresentational artwork, and she believes that practice rendering landscapes, the human figure, and still life enhances every form of artmaking. McCann emphasizes that developing a vocabulary of engaging mark-making and color theory elevate her student’s representational artwork. McCann completed a 9-month residency at the Paris Gibson Square Museum of Art in 2017 and received her BFA in Drawing & Painting from BYU-Idaho in 2016.
