Rex Gifford passed away peacefully with his children at his side on August 2, 2024. He was born on the family ranch in Lovell, Wyoming on July 26, 1932. He married Althea Graham on November 30, 1953.

Their family was completed by the birth of three children- Carla, Stewart, and Patti. He took pride in caring for his family and had a strong work ethic. His love of mechanics led to service in the Navy and a career in the automobile industry, including owning and operating a service station.

Rex instilled his passion for the outdoors to his children. His love of hiking took him to many beautiful places and to building his log home in the Dearborn area. His hobbies included hiking, reading, traveling and leather tooling. Rex is survived by his children, eight grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Althea, his parents, and his six siblings.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rex’s name may be made to the National Park Foundation.
