Leigh Larson, this summer, spent eight weeks in Pakistan with an American Christian organization doing humanitarian work. Leigh will visit the Library on Thursday, Sept. 18, from 6:30 to 8 pm to talk to us about this work, focusing on Muslim culture, the Taliban, climate change impact on equatorial people, and the local geography.

Ms. Larson helped to facilitate programs towards Afghan refugees of the Taliban, local farmers unions, and climate disaster response, and with girls’ education and child marriage.

In this lecture, Ms. Larson will share her boots-on-the-ground experience working in an environment that is both widely different and similar to our own, and how we can relate that to our American experience.

Larson is a University of Texas at Austin Presidential Scholar alum, US Air Force Veteran, and former non-profit program manager.
