Update: Early Saturday evening, October 25th, Great Falls Fire Rescue was dispatched to a house fire at 817 6th Ave NW. The 911 Dispatch Center reported the fire at 5:48 PM, and Truck 2 was the first GFFR unit to arrive on the scene at 5:55 PM. Upon arrival, Truck 2 noticed smoke coming from the front door and windows. One of the residents informed the Truck 2 crew that the fire was located in the basement of the house. The resident also confirmed that everyone had safely exited the home, except for two cats that remained inside.

With this information, the Truck 2 crew entered the house and located the fire in the basement, specifically in the area of the television and gaming systems. The fire caused significant damage to the basement, while the rest of the house suffered only minor smoke damage. After extinguishing the fire, the crew found the two remaining cats safe inside the house. The cause of the fire was determined to be electrical in nature.
