Early Friday morning, October 17th, 2025, Wendy Lee LaFountain’s battle with cancer came to an end.
Wendy was a woman full of life, love, and compassion. She was one of the most selfless ladies; her heart going out to everyone she knew. Her light shinned brightly into many people’s lives and will continue to do so as we carry her love.
As a CNA, Wendy didn’t see those living in the homes as pesky or a task for a paycheck, but as best friends and loving family. She would bring happiness and comfort to those in her care, even bringing along her children and grandbabies in to assist bringing smiles and the best baby cuddles.
Her home away from home, the R&R, was a joy she held on to even when cancer was stealing it away. The staff and patrons, who became kin, were always on her mind, in her heart, and welcomed in her home. To Wendy one did not need to be blood to be family and she enjoyed showing this by making unforgettable experiences for all. Her holidays were filled with togetherness, yearly gatherings at Rockin the Rivers with pizazz, adventures across Montana with unplanned wonders, lazy summer evenings with BBQ and s’mores and Renaissance Fairs with enchantment.
Since a young age, Wendy has been a part of the Little Shell Celebration and Metis, held in Lewistown. Her love for it and the families that came from near and far could be seen year round. From working the kitchen, to raising money, braiding hair (one of the best said by many), aiding the dancers in getting ready, and walking grand entry, Wendy was a predominant member of the yearly gathering. She will be immensely missed by many.
Wendy leaves behind her father John; mother Susan, brother John; sisters Lisa, Casey, Kellie; children Chasity, Shay, Chase; grandbabies Jericho, Kyrin, Runa, Grey, Ryan, Liam, Juniper, Spencer, Aurora, Quinn and Bre along with her best friend, partner in adventures and life for 10 years, Gary Maxwell.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the R&R in Great Falls on November 1st starting at 2pm those who wish to join are welcome to stop by.
